Fly Fishing Frame

A great example of a one of a kind project we just completed. Custom Home Builder, Steve Hooper wanted something to remember his recent fly fishing trip to Montana. He provided the map he used to get to the Big Horn River, the fly that he caught the rainbow trout witht and the picture of him. We mounted the map to an solid core cotton mat and cut two custom openings. The frame is recycled barnboard from a barn in Topsham, Maine finished with a water based satin polyurethane.

Snow

All of this snow has made me think of skiing. In between storms stop by and see some of our new vintage ski prints.

Picture Framing Class

Last week we taught our first MECA adult ed picture framing class. We had such a good time that we will be doing it again in August. Visit the MECA website to find more information on upcoming classes. "Dear Tony, Holly, and Mike,  A quick note to thank you again for a fantastic workshop…   Please know that I had a great time and came away with much – appreciation for your fine skill set, greater understanding of steps to consider to better show/present/highlight my art, better understanding of the parts that go into framing and the role each play, exposure to some tools required and resources from the professional and DIY perspectives, and some firsthand practice in DIY framing.  Thank you again for everything.  I look forward to crossing paths again soon.  You need to know that it’s learning opportunity like this that makes MECA so special. -  Dan Grenier   http://daniel-grenier.com/  "
